Explain that they're going to do a safety lap of the track, similar to a driving test. The idea of the lap is to show that they’re safe and your happy for them to continue.

Once the initial first lap has been completed and your happy for them to continue, attach the lanyard lead to their wrist and let them continue.

If you’re unsure or think a participant is unsafe, continue your safety lap until you believe they are ready to continue on their own.
