Aeroball

More Activities

Aeroball

Almost like Volleyball, not quite like Basketball and not just a Trampoline... Aeroball merges all three activities into the ultimate sports experience!

How to play?

At its core, the game is very simple. Points are scored in two ways. The first is to throw the ball through the front hole of the basket in the other player's compartment, worth two points. If the shot misses and the other player fails to grab the ball before it touches the trampoline bed, one point is awarded. Once one of the players reaches a predetermined number of points they are declared the winner or the player with the most points at the end of the time period wins the match.

Safety

The safety brief should include the following:

  • Participants must be wearing appropriate clothing and footwear.
  • Items from pockets and jewellery should be removed.
  • Instructor is to stand next to the step to assist players entering and leaving the court.
  • Players and spectators to keep clear of springs.
  • There is to be no physical contact between players.
  • Only one player in each Aeroball section at one time.

Delivery Notes .

  • The activity should begin with a series of simple warm-up exercises.

  • Introduce the participants to the game and explain how to play. Make sure all participants know the rules relating to both playing and spectating.

  • The group can play either individually or as pairs. Each game should last between 3-5 minutes. Rotate players to ensure that each person gets a fair share of turns.

  • As the session progresses, players should be encouraged to think about how they can improve their performance, both in physical technique and team play. Communication between the team members should be encouraged.

  • Once group members have played at least once. Scores should be kept and a league table organised. Add creativity to the mix by getting pairs to come up with a team name.

Key Notes .

  • Players are to bounce with knees bent and leaning forward slightly.
  • Stopping is achieved by absorbing the bounce by bending the knees on landing.
